Don't Miss the Music & the Message!
Make sure you're in the house as our 15 young deejays make it happen at the Austin YMCA in their end-of-summer show/party.

Come experience the message in the music as our 15 Camp DeeJay emcees rock the mic and the turntables!  It’s a rhythmic journey of Hip Hop, R&B, dance, steppin’ music and much more.  Hear the beat, feel the rhythm and share the music as our Beat Master, Groove Master and Mix Master squads make you move on the dance floor and deliver a message of unity and peace.

An Urban Fantasy
Celebrating the Sounds of the
Djembe drum, African Dance
and the
Carnival Experience!

Enjoy our musical and theatrical performance called "Journey to Carnival".  It's a colorful and rhythmic trip that will take you from the streets of Chicago to the Caribbean! The magical and loving "Mama Tunde" begins this journey by intervening one hot summer day to prevent a group of 30 teens (the Igbo, Mandinka, Zulu, Mende and Ashanti) from clashing violently on the city street.  She transports them suddenly to the islands where they learn the spirits of unity, discipline and teamwork in order to make peace. Through Afro-Caribbean rhythms and dance they share their rich heritage and the value of coming together.  Click to get a sneak peak of Afro-Caribbean carnivals here!
